We have little white flowers all over our yard.
A few days ago we had a fly inside the house.
Today, the temperatures hit a high of 50 degrees! And oh my does it feel like HEAVEN to be out in the sunshine with a light jacket. It feels like it’s been forever since we had a day like this.
So we decided to go out for a walk before we missed out on this loveliness.
Definitely think the weather is starting to turn, can we start booking some awesome outdoor sessions now pretty please?
If you are interested in a session, please fill out my Contact From.
So I set out today to take some family self portraits. It’s around 3pm and I’m hoping for some nice light and relatively decent weather. The morning was pretty nice out, 40’s and even a little sunshine here and there, so I thought I might head out with my little project.
Well… For whatever insane reason we thought it would be find to bring the dogs along. (Toddler, tripod, pups… What could go wrong? After all my friends Mirka & Filip do it all the time, right? Check out her Wedding Photography site Here). My 2yo daughter wants to bring her little baby doll stroller (add about twice as much walking time because that makes her go so slowly) sure… why not?
Well, as soon as we step out the door it starts drizzling. Yay! LOL
But we keep walking, rain here is so light you can barely feel it most of the time. I find a semi suitable location (about a half mile closer to the one we were planning for) and try and get all set up. Put up the tripod, hook up the camera while husband is wrangling up the toddler and dogs. Weather is starting to turn and I totally can’t feel my fingers anymore. Perfect.
Long story short. We really didn’t get very many photos! It was cold and rainy and WINDY. Grabbed a few test shots and called it a day. Headed home and it REALLY starts to rain… And hail… And SNOW… It was just crazy LOL!
After a much needed hot cup of coffee, I decided to check out what we managed to capture… I must say, I enjoyed these a LOT more than I thought I would. Hope you do too! 😉
Next time I might try to smile more hahaha
What an amazing family to work with! A true pleasure from start to finish.
I wanted to share a few of the lovely images I was able to capture for this wonderful family. They excitedly contacted me for their first official family photo session and it was great to have a client be so excited, not only about getting some nice photos done, but also about working with a photographer that they really liked. Seriously, such a pleasure for me to work with such an enthusiastic family.
It was such a lovely fall evening too. We decided on a little bit of a hike so we could catch all those beautiful fall leaves before they all fell to the ground. It was such a nice evening!
Had the pleasure of working with the Goff family and their adorable little girls. I decided to host a Fall Themed mini session at the Hitscherhof Farm Festival this past weekend and the Goff’s were happy to take up the opportunity to get some fun photos of their little girls.
They were sooo adorable and fun to work with. The youngest Miss Goff took a few moments to warm up to me, but she quickly dropped her shyness and was all smiles for the camera. And the older Miss Goff was just super silly and ready for her photos.
The festival was pretty fun too! Lots of neat vendors, a corn maze, and pumpkin picking for the little ones.
I really wanted to find a family that had JUST arrived to Germany and gift them a photo session. After all, I just arrived myself and the first thing I wanted was some awesome “Just Arrived” photos.
Stephanie was one of the first to contact me and her enthusiasms was completely intoxicating. I knew I wanted to work with this family. After a little back and forth, we decided to have a little lifestyle session at the small Castle in Landstuhl. By 6:30pm the castle was actually closed, so don’t get there any later than 5pm if you want to explore it more. But there is a restaurant up there and the grounds are open to all to explore the outside of the castle. So it’s definitely a fun spot! Oh yeah, and there are hiking trails up there as well.
Anyhow! Back to the Gradys!
This family of 5 was a dream to work with. The children were completely engaged, they all came dressed to impress, and OMG little Henry completely stole my heart (or was it the other way around? 😉 )
I hope you enjoy your photos. Welcome to Germany! May this be a happy home for you in the time that you are here!
This absolutely gorgeous family invited me into their home and allowed me to capture some tender memories for them of their newborn son. It was such a pleasure to work with such a sweet and easy going family.
Little Mr. Tammen, welcome to the world. You have a lovely family to get to know. An adoring older sister, a super fun older brother, and a mother and father who love you more than anything. May you be blessed every day of your life.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting a portrait session for Iraiset and her family. She had been wanting to get some shots done for her two year old daughter. She was so sweet and had such adorable ideas for the shoot. I hope I was able to capture some of what she asked for. It was great to meet her and her adorable daughter and husband.
It was such a pleasure to shoot my last mom, Sylvia. She just had the sweetest demeanor and so easy to work with. And could her daughter have been any more adorable?! I think not (wait till you see those pictures!). It was truly a pleasure.
Sylvia even had a little surprise with her! She had brought this awesome big fluffy pink tutu for her daughter to wear in some of the pictures. And boy was it hard not to smile with that little one being engulfed by pink tule. It was just a cuteness explosion. Totally fun to shot, I think I will need to do more of these fluffy tutu shoots, cause I LOVED this.
So overal, the back to back mini sessions were definitely a great experience for me. I got to work with different families, each one brought their own style to the table, and their own little challenge for me. It was really fun to meet some new moms and I would love to work with all of them again some time.
Well… enough blabber from me… here are the pictures, enjoy!!
Today was my Mother’s Day shoot and it was SO much fun!
I decided to split up each of the mini sessions instead of writing up one post for every body because I can share more pictures of each session that way hehehe…
So on to the first mommy, Elyse!!!
This adorable mommy and baby boy were just to die for. He was just a chunky happy little man who was having a blast checking out the garden. You could tell that he’s at that age where they are really paying attention to their surroundings and enjoying this new found world.
It was so fun and easy to shoot this family. It’s amazing how much I learn from each family, each location, each editing session. I love this stuff!!!
Alright, without any further delay… Here are some gorgeous shots from this morning!
Now here’s a family I can’t get enough of!
Erika and her three little ones charged into the garden, and let me tell you, there was no stoping them! Here’s my question to more experienced photogs, how to take pictures of multiple ACTIVE children?! hahaha
We chased around those kids and as soon as we had two of them haming it up and giving us a big smile a third was off chasing butterflies! Or maybe everyone was miraculously looking as I’m double checking the camera settings, AHHHH!! DONT MISS THE PICTURE!!!!
Now THAT was another great learning experience. I need to bring some kind of kid attention grabbing tools. Maybe some little toys or stickers or candy. IDK something fun to give the kids at the end of a session or to give them something to look at that’s more interesting than a camera.
Regardless, it was hard not catch a few good ones <3 A beautiful family, beautiful setting, and a gorgeous day make for some amazing pictures.
